About Carlisle Victory Circle

Who We Are

The Carlisle Victory Circle, Inc. (CVC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization and a United Way Agency established in 1995. Our mission is to challenge young people to prepare for their future through education and character development. With a dedicated CVC Board of Directors, parents, teachers and counselors, we encourage our members to prioritize academic achievement to prepare for a successful future. CVC works in partnership with the Carlisle Area School District, The United Way of Carlisle and Cumberland County, Dickinson College, Penn State Dickinson Law, Shippensburg University, Project Share and the Partnership for Better Health, as well as other community organizations and foundations.

CVC holds meetings both in-school and at our Clubhouse (at 368 W. North St. in Carlisle). Our middle school meetings are held after school at one of the middle schools (with students from the other school riding the transfer bus). High school meetings are held during the day in the club-meeting period. And our Clubhouse is open two nights

Our middle school meetings are held after school at one of the middle schools (with students from the other school riding the transfer bus). High school meetings are held during the day in the club-meeting period. And our Clubhouse is open two nights each week. The Clubhouse is a special space for our members, where we share meals (often taught as cooking classes), do homework and craft projects together, relax, and play games and music.

Members are encouraged to attend as many meetings as they are able.

We support our members’ success in school with tutoring programs, prizes for good grades, and goal setting and journaling activities. We also take educational field trips. Recent trips have taken us to Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. to visit museums and tour historic sites.

We help our students to develop life skills, explore career options, apply for part-time jobs, practice interviewing, plan internships, and make decisions about college, careers, and the military. We provide individual support for college, financial aid and scholarship applications. And CVC awards scholarships to members who go on to two- or four-year colleges.
